The brain is the body's control centre. It keeps the body working smoothly and it looks after thoughts, feelings and memory.

Different parts of the brain have different jobs to do. The largest part is called the cerebrum, or forebrain. It looks like a huge half walnut. The cerebrum's main job is to sort out and respond to messages sent to it from the senses. It also stores information, as memory, and it thinks. Messages from the senses are managed by the cerebrum's sensory area, while the motor area controls the muscles. Thinking, memory and speech are managed by the parts known as the association areas. The cerebellum (or hindbrain) is below the cerebrum. It works with the cerebrum's motor area to ensure that the muscles function smoothly.

Looking at it, form this perspective, seems very easy to remember. But the brain, as part of the neurological system is much more complicated than that. I think that neurology is the most difficult part of medicine to study on, you can only do it if you really love it.

Most of the neurological diseases are impossible to cure. And this link leads you to only one of the most severe neurological diseases: Alzheimer

The main function of brain is to co-ordinate. To co-ordinate between recieved impulses and our responces. to co-ordinate beteen our past experiences(memories) and present actions. The bio-electronic process behind this great. It makes us more powerfull than super computers.

The brain can be called the CPU of human body. We cannot really be choosy while discussing the main functions of the brain because the brain controls all the physiological and other functions in the human body! The brain controls the different enzymes and hormones which again controls different body functions.

The Brain the CPU of the human body that is a right definition in today's context. I am not aware of the scientific aspects of the brain and so it was very good to read all those what you have written. It was some learning.

Although this is a very simplistic point of view, it is very useful for the noob.
