Every season, the great fashion houses of Europe and United States present their new collections in the hope of persuading people to renew their wardrobes by purchasing the latest designs.

In my opinion one does not have to be a slave to fashion in order to look smart.

To start with, following the latest trends in fashion can be extremely expensieve. This is especially true for those who buy costly designer clothing. There is also a risk of getting into debt in order to keep up with the latest fashions.

Followers of fashion often give up their individuality for the sake of fashion. They choose clothes which suit neither their figures nor thier personalities. This is unfortunate, as the way we dress should reflect who we really are.

On the other hand, some people argue that it is necessary to dress fashionably in order to create the correct image for their careers. This is particularly true of those that the latest faschions are the most appropiate, however. Simple but well-made clothes are almost always the best choice for business wear.

I strongly believe that it is advisable to dress with style by choosing good quality clothes which suit you as an individual and have lasting elegance. As the famous designer Coco Chanel put it : "Fashion is made to become unfashionable." So instead of changing your wardrobe constantly, isn't it better to build up a collection of clothes which you can always wear ?

Fashion has always occupied an important place in our life, but this doesn t have to mean we should allow ourselves to be manipulated by it.

More important than having a original piece from a famous creator is to have your own style. We should understand that it s more important to create a style of our own and buy clothes that make us feel good although they are not in the last trends.

I think if you want to be a nonconformist there are more disadvantages than advantages because if you create your own style you're in a big risk where ever you'll go because some people will laugh at you or consider you crazy.
You must be a strong person and have a powerfull personality to manage all the others oppinions regarding you because at the beginning you tell yourself that you don't mind the other's impressions but if this is going to happen daily you should soon be in trouble choosing your clothes again.

Fashion is what we make of it...at least this is what I think. This is because there are so many fashion victims in the world, that fashion designers should start educating people before creating any more clothes for them laugh.gif

ok....I am from romania where "fashion" has a very low interest. Fashion almost does not exist here...and if u see fashion....most of the times it is bad taste fashion...
In Romania people should be more careful to fashion and spend more time and money...
Or just watch fashion TV and then go shopping:) just an idea

hi everyone. i'm from romania too and i'm not really agree with you, dinteus. it is true that people from romania should develop better tastes but not to spend too much money and time on fashion. i think it's a waste of time, energy and so on.
well, there are roch people who spend money on fashion.. but i think that normallz people should just dress with taste, doesn't matter if the they have designer clothes. in romania, money don't eran so easy and i think that people shoul spend them in a more usefull way.

anyway, fashion will be always part of our lifes, in a way or other.
have a nice day! wink.gif smile.gif

It's a choice of a person if he/she will spend so much time on fashion.

For me, I don't spend that much because for only one reason. I am not rich. Fashion is only suitable to the rich people.

Fashion is a lifestyle. Anyway, What type of designer denims or jeans do you prefer? I'm curious to see what everyone's tastes are. I'm extremely devoted to fashion especially jeans:) My personal favorites are: 7 for all mankind, citizens of humanity, true religion, rock and republic, joe's jeans, and lucky brand. What are your intakes an opinions on certain designer jeans?

Yes! Ever since jeans have hit the fashion ramp, they have not just become fashion trends, now the situation is if you do not wear jeans you may be counted is ridiculous. And its a fact. i also loves to wear jeans, and most probably i wear cotton jeans. Just for a sake of office etiquette. Other than i prefer denims.
